Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza aims at combating violence against women and caring for children with cleft palate

Andrea Meza of Mexico was crowned as Miss Universe 2020 at the end of the 69th edition on May 16th 2021 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Hollywood. Enjoying her achievement, after all the time and effort invested in reaching the top, she has already begun her activities and is visiting several health centers, organizations and attending media interviews.

The queen is now preparing for her visit to homeland, Mexico and shared all about her future agendas and priorities recently. She says that she will be putting a lot of effort into issues such as violence against women and work towards supporting children with cleft lip and palate. Andrea mentioned, “One of my first trips will be with Smile Train in Mexico to work on this project that is to do cleft palate surgeries, help children regain the way they eat and how they look, because sometimes children can be cruel and the way In what it can affect your growth, your self-esteem. They work the surgery and provide support to the families.

Although Andrea’s victory saw two extreme responses, where she was celebrated and criticized by those who question beauty pageants, both at the same time. Her efforts and success was applauded by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who congratulated her on Twitter.

The pride of Mexico also shared that, “It was incredible to receive congratulations from people I have admired, from very important people in our country, I was able to see and receive the congratulations of our President and if they are looking to have an official reception, it is still to be seen, we are in the accommodation of the agendas, It is still a bit uncertain but that it is sought to have the approach, it is sought.”

Recently Andrea has also been receiving some comments on her personal life as she Andrea has been accompanied throughout this process by her partner, Ryan Antonio, who has shown in small videos some moments with her with touches of humor.

Regarding having a life partner at this time of career, she shared, “Of course, for me it is very important to give this message that you can have both, that you can be successful in your personal life and you can also have a sentimental partner and combine them and that your partner celebrates your triumph and long live success together with you, for me that is something super important and that I have enjoyed a lot.”

Since winning Miss Universe 2020, Andrea Meza became the third woman from her country to win the Miss Universe crown. Apart from being the pride for her country, she has managed to inspire young girls and aspires to continue the same, along with fulfilling her agendas.
