The 69th edition of Miss Universe i.e., Miss Universe 2020 is tentatively set to be held in the month of April or May in 2021. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. The coronation ceremony was postponed due to the pandemic outbreak across the world.
There are about sixty-one delegates confirmed for the competition till now and out of them there are five beauties who are of Indian descent and have embraced both cultures with utmost respect and humbleness. Miss Universe India 2020 Adline Castelino
Adline Castelino was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2020 on 22nd February 2020 and earned her chance to represent India at the Miss Universe 2020 stage. Born in Kuwait, Adline returned to India at the age of fifteen and settled down in the city of Mumbai where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Wilson College. The diva feels immensely proud to represent the country at the international stage and will be using the platform to advocate about the sustainable livelihood for farmers to curb farmer’s suicides and inequality. She has also used the platform to advocate about the acceptance of LGBTQ community. She is one of the strongest contenders for the title as she has impressed everyone with her confidence and determination.
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo
Rabiya Mateo was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020 on 25th October 2020 and earned her chance to represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2020 stage. Born to an Indian-American father and Filipino mother, Rabiya is considered as one of the strongest contenders for the title. She attended Iloilo Doctors' College as Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and graduated cum laude. Rabiya embraces both Indian as well as the Filipino culture and is using the platform to create awareness about the importance of education in the world.
Miss Universe Australia 2020 Maria Thattil
Maria Thattil was crowned Miss Universe Australia 2020 on 28th October 2020 and earned her chance to represent Australia at the Miss Universe 2020 stage. Maria was born to Indian parents in Melbourne and has embraced both cultures and traditions with utmost respect and love. She graduated with honors from RMIT University in Melbourne with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and later graduated with her master’s degree in Management from the University of Melbourne. Maria too identifies herself as a third culture kid who was influenced by her Indian roots in Western society and explains that she resonates with her Indian roots and has been able to found a balance between the two. She is one of the strongest and favorite contenders for the title.
Miss Universe France 2020 Clemence Botino
Clemence Botino was crowned Miss France 2020 on 14th December 2019 and earned her chance to represent France at the Miss Universe 2020. Clemence has Indo-Caribbean origins from her mother and Afro-Caribbean and European origins from her father. She obtained a scientific baccalaureate with mention "very good". She is considered as one of the strongest contenders for the title and has recently crowned her successor.
Miss Universe Mauritius 2020 Vandana Jeetah
Vandana Jeetah was appointed as Miss Universe Mauritius 2020 on 17th September 2020 and earned her chance to represent Mauritius at the Miss Universe 2020 stage. She is a Mauritian-Indian beauty who has recently earned her Master’s Degree in Law and is currently working as an in-house lawyer. She is actively involved in the community with the Lions Club. Vandana is also a founder member and the Past President of the Leo Club of Flacq. Vandana’s focus revolves around the environment with projects such as coral farming which is crucial for the restoration of the Mauritian coral reefs.
