It came as a shocker for Poland as Miss Polski 2019 Magdalena Kasiborska withdrew her participation from Miss Universe 2020. Due to health reasons, Magdalena will no longer represent Poland at the 69th Miss Universe competition scheduled to happen in May 2021. The unavoidable withdrawal is due to a herniated disc because of which she has to go through series of tests and medical treatments, and months of rehabilitation.
The announcement was made official by the Miss Polski organisation through their official Instagram on March 22nd, 2021, stating, “Our wonderful Magdalena Kasiborska- Miss Poland 2019, due to health reasons she will unfortunately not be able to represent Poland in the Miss Universe competition… Magda has contributed to preparing for participating in the competition. At this moment we wish her a speedy recovery.”
Magdalena Kasiborska was crowned as the winner of Miss Polski 2019 on 8th December 2019 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice and earned a chance to represent Poland at Miss Universe 2020 stage.
Hailing from the city of Zabrze, Magdalena stands 179cm tall and is a 20-year old student of cosmetology. In the future, the diva aspires to study medicine and her greatest passion is sport, music, tennis, and dance. In the past, she trained ballroom dancing for eight years.
Addressing her withdrawal, Magda took to her Instagram, “My dear ones! Despite all my efforts and people involved in the trip to the 69th edition of Miss Universe, I will not be able to represent our country. My health condition has been questioned and I have to follow the advice of specialists who will try to ensure that I can implement the actions I have undertaken in the future.”
Magdalena says we haven’t seen the last of her yet and wishes the best to the woman who will be appointed as the new Miss Universe Poland 2020 and who will have super short time to prepare. The organization will announce the new representative soon.
Wishing her a speedy recovery, Magdalena’s fans have been extending their support and love. Magda has asked them to “be of good cheer, because I am not going to give up. ‘Your faith in me has always given me strength’.”
