She believes that no matter what you experienced in your life, it does not define you. She also shared her personal story behind the campaign that motivates her which what she has been working around for the past year.

Viivi was sexually assaulted when she was 19-years-old and it was a really traumatizing experience which she suffered from for a long time and fought against it all alone for a long time. “At some point I just realized that I don’t want this thing to affect me, I don’t want it to control the way I live my life,” she added.

Iris Salguero Miss Universe Belize 2020 was also one of the queens to come forward and share about her physically abusive relationship at a young age of 17. Miss Universe Haiti 2020 Eden Berandoive also opened up about her story for the first time being a survivor of being harassed by her teacher at a naive age of 15. Her story made us realize how if a person who supposed to impart education can do something so horrifying to us, then anybody can. She also shared how later in life she was also harassed by a policeman. It just proves how people like them have no specific look and most often it’s the people we are around who turn out to be the monsters in our lives.

Eden came through two of the worst situations in her life which her took her down, but she climbed back up like a hero and now she sees her life as a mission to inspire all the people and especially young girls to know that whatever be the situation, believing in yourself can get you through.

Jeantte Akua Miss Universe Great Britain 2020 put it all very well how nothing emboldens perpetrators than a legal system that willfully ignores these heinous crimes against women. “We often think perpetrators are this forgein entities whereas I found they are very much ingrained in our everyday lives.”
