The 70th edition of Miss Universe pageant, Miss Universe 2021, is set to be held on 12th December 2021 in Eilat, Israel where Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

The delegates are in the last leg of pre pageant activities and are already done with the head to head challenge. Contestants are currently underway with the judge’s interview round and next up is the much watched out for, national costume round, set to be held tomorrow at 7 PM (local time).

Panama’s Brenda Lezma smith has recently revealed her national costume for the preliminary competition to be held in a few hours. Her dress is conceptualised and designed by Daniel Cortina and represents the country’s culture, anecdotes and experiences. The costume is allegedly a bus with Panama-Israel written on top of it depicting the country’s ties with the host.

“Getting on a bus in my country is synonymous with culture, anecdotes and experiences. The sonorous chant of ‘come if there is a place’, their popular music, the tour through its corridors remembering that the positions on the left are three at a time, is something that we will never forget, and that we will always treasure as Panamanians,” explains Brenda. “We are art, culture and history embodied in a single design,” the designer of the Panamian national costume affirmed proudly.

On the back of the dress, there’s a picture of Justine Pasek Patiño, a Polish-Panamanian model who won the Miss Universe competition in 2002 under which ‘I love PTY’ is written, reflecting country’s hope to repeat the feat at this year’s competition.
