Rina Messinger joins the selection committee of Miss Universe 2021

The Miss Universe organization has kickstarted the celebrations for the 70th edition of the international pageants as the delegates have been enjoying the scenic beauty of Jerusalem. The divas have been involved in the promotional photoshoots and pre-pageant challenges and activities.

While the pageant fanatics are ecstatic with this year’s production approaching closer, the organization has also divulged the names of this year’s selection committee. One of the recent names that has emerged as a judge for the pageant this year is of Rina Messinger, an Israeli lawyer, writer and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Universe 1976.

She was the first Miss Israel ever to win the Miss Universe crown. In 1989 and 2004 she was a judge in the Miss Israel competition. In 1981, she wrote a book on her experience as Miss Universe. In 1991, she began studying law at Tel Aviv University. After completing her bachelor's degree with honours, the family left for the Netherlands. She completed her master's degree there, specializing in family law. In 2002, after six years in the Netherlands, the family returned to Israel.

After her reign as Miss Universe, Messinger worked in public relations for the Jewish Agency and Israel Bonds in New York. After four years she returned to Israel and continued working in public relations for a private company. Mor-Goder is a lawyer in Tel Aviv, working on her doctorate and appearing every week on the morning show of Channel 10, where she gives advice on family law.

Among others joining the panel are iris Mittenaere, Miss Universe 2016, host sand model; Lori Harvey, model and host Steve Harvey’s daughter and Adamari Lopez, actress and TV host. Others include, Coco Rocha, Tali Eshkoli, Lyrica Okano, Daniel Rubino, Filpino-American makeup vlogger Patrick Starrr, and Filipino actress Marian Rivera-Dantes and Indian actress Urvashi Rautela.

Miss Universe 2021, the 70th edition of Miss Universe, will be held on held on 12th December 2021 in Eilat, Israel. Andrea Meza of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the event finale as eighty stunning beauties will compete at the most coveted pageant in the world.
