While the country was trying its best to win the crown since decades and placed in Top 10/Top 5 in the recent years, Anntonia placed as 1st RU after 35 years. Before that, in 1988, Porntip Nakhirunkanok was crowned Miss Universe.

Issie Princesse, with her stellar performance, placed in the Top 20 at the end of the finale. Cameroon has placed in the Top 20 for the first time since its participation in Miss Universe!
