The finale of Miss Universe 2023 was a night full of emotions, cheerful laughter and historic placements with Sheynnis Palacios becoming the first ever Nicaraguan to win Miss Universe crown. However, it just wasn’t her, there were so many records made; starting with the 2023 edition witnessing mothers and married women competing for Miss Universe crown.

 

 

Let’s talk about the history makers/ record breakers at Miss Universe 2023 –

Anntonia Porsild Miss Universe Thailand 2023

Anntonia Porsild was inches away from the crown at Miss Universe 2023 as she won the 1st Runner-up position. While the country was trying its best to win the crown since decades and placed in Top 10/Top 5 in the recent years, Anntonia placed as 1st RU after 35 years. Before that, in 1988, Porntip Nakhirunkanok was crowned Miss Universe.

 

 

Issie Princesse Miss Universe Cameroon 2023

Issie Princesse, with her stellar performance, placed in the Top 20 at the end of the finale. Cameroon has placed in the Top 20 for the first time since its participation in Miss Universe!

 

 

Jane Dipika Garrett Miss Universe Nepal 2023

Erica Robin Miss Universe Pakistan 2023

Erica Robin debuted her country’s representation at Miss Universe this year amidst numerous controversies in her country. However, she shut up every troll around the world by winning the historic Top 20 position in Miss Universe 2023 and also the first ever delegate to wear a burkini in the swimsuit competition.

 

 

Marina Machete Miss Universe Portugal 2023

Marina Machete, the first of two trans women who competed at Miss Universe 2023, made history by becoming the first ever transgender to place in the Top 20 at Miss Universe.

 

 

Camila Avella Miss Universe Colombia 2023

Camila Avella also made history by being the first mother and married woman to compete at Miss Universe 2023 and then placed in Top 5 with her amazing performance!
