Miss Cambodia Organization held its press conference to announce Cambodia’s representatives to their franchised international pageants on 20th May 2018. Miss Cambodia 2017 Rern Sinat was announced Miss Universe Cambodia 2018 as she became the official representative of Cambodia at Miss Universe 2018.

Cambodia is new to the pageant world having sent its first representative to Miss Universe only in 2017. Rern Sinat, therefore, becomes the second woman from the country to wear the Miss Universe Cambodia sash. The 22-year-old beauty vows to make the world turn its head to the allure and sophistication of Khmer women.

A year ago, Rern Sinat won the coveted title of Miss Cambodia 2017. A model and a DJ, Rern is grateful to be entrusted with the responsibility of representing the country on what arguably is the most prestigious and most watched pageant competition in the world.

On her announcement, she exclaimed, “I realised that I still have a long way to go, especially when it comes to my communication skills. But I am confident that by staying focused and persevering, I can make Cambodia, and Cambodians proud.”

With her advocacy to do better and help the underprivileged sections of the society of Cambodia, Rern has vowed to bring a change and address the issue of inequality.

Other titles were also given at the press conference - Long Punleu was designated the title of Miss Asia Pacific Cambodia 2018. She will represent Cambodia at Miss Asia Pacific International 2018. Kha Annchhany was announced Miss Chinese World 2018 and Thoung Mala was presented with the title of Miss Chinese World 2018, Siem Reap.
