The event finale of Miss Universe Canada 2018 is scheduled to happen on 18th August 2018 at John Bassett Theatre, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto. At the end of the finale, the reigning Miss Universe Canada 2017 Lauren Howe will crown her successor who will then go on to represent Canada in Miss Universe 2018 on 16th December 2018, in Thailand.

But before the finale, in a series of features, Angelopedia has selected top 20 contestants who are most likely to win the pageant. Meet Veronique Langis who is 18 years old from Sudbury, Ontario, contestant number 20, one of our favourite contestants competing for the national title.

Véronique Langis was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. She is the middle child with a little brother and an older sister who are loving and very supportive. She is from a francophone community and she can speak English and French. She graduated from high school last June. Véronique has done most of her volunteering helping out with the school. She will be going to Laurentian University to complete her bachelor’s in behavioral neuroscience. Currently she’s working as a science demonstrator at Dynamic Earth which is a tourist spot in Sudbury, where you’ll see the big nickel.

She was a delegate at Miss North Ontario 2018 and made it to the top 15. This is where she found her passion and love for pageantry. She was rewarded with the Top Model Search Canada scholarship, which she also attended last year. Véronique hopes to achieve her goals to become a successful model. Travelling the world is one of her many goals because she loves exploring different cultures.

Véronique loves stepping out of her comfort zone and taking on new challenges. She always has a smile and always tries to keep a positive mind. She lives by the motto “your life is only as good as your mindset”.
