Miss Universe Canada 2019 is all set to host its grand coronation night as fifty-five contestants from all over Canada will compete for the national crown and the opportunity to represent Canada in Miss Universe 2019. Miss Universe Canada 2018 Marta Magdalena Stepien will crown her successor at the conclusion of the finale.

While all the delegates have shown tremendous potential and enthusiasm but there are a few who have stood out from the rest with their endearing beauty and charming personality and won over our hearts. Here are our favourites for the national crown from the fifty-five delegates competing for Miss Universe Canada 2019 –

Alysha Ortiz

This beauty stands 170 cm tall and hails from Calgary, Alberta, but currently lives in Chestermere, Alberta. She graduated from Mount Royal University with a Baccalaureate degree in Registered Nursing and additional studies in Arts and Business. She is presently working as a Registered Nurse at a local hospital. She looks forward to bringing her confidence, determination, and passion to this pageant this year. She hopes to use this opportunity to shine a light on a variety of issues happening in her country, and the world today. With her passion, she will be able to secure a spot in the finale.

Alyssa Boston

This beauty stands 172 cm tall and hails from Tecumseh, Ontario. She is an ambitious, confident and innovative woman who advocates mental health awareness. She studied at Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. The beauty is no stranger to pageantry as this industry is one of her biggest passions which where she intends to succeed. Her entry in Miss Universe Canada Western Ontario preliminary pageant in 2014 led her to compete at the national level. She moved ahead to compete and win the title of Miss Swimsuit Canada in Montreal, Quebec and place in the top 20 at the international finals in 2016. After which she represented Canada in Cairo, Egypt at Miss Eco International 2018 where she could not win the spot but later ended up being placed as the first runner-up at Miss World Canada 2018. With her experience in pageantry, she will be able to have a strong foothold in the pageant.

Daphne Vimalanathan

The gorgeous 172 cm tall beauty hails from Toronto and is a bilingual as she can speak English and Tamil fluently. She is currently pursuing a degree in Criminology and Justice at UOIT and dreams of becoming a lawyer in the future. Her intense passion for cars, painting and travelling in order to fulfil her curiosity of various cultures portrays her as an entrancing and compassionate young woman. She is no stranger to pageantry as she ended up being placed as the second runner-up for Canada’s Top Choice pageant in 2017. She has also invested her time to teach children with special needs and helped clean up the city via numerous environmental works. With her beauty and talent, she will be able to leave a notable mark in the finale.

Jean Nicole P. de Jesus

Jean Nicole P. de Jesus who stands 170 cm tall is a Canadian financial advisor, entrepreneur and events host. She was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and her parents immigrated to Canada in the 1980s from the Philippines. She studied at the Northern Alberta Institution of Technology where she pursued Business Administration and appeared on the Deans honour list. She also studied at Red Deer College where she obtained her mutual fund license. In 2014, she teamed up with her parents and opened a Filipino restaurant in Edmonton, which in 2018 was awarded “The Gold Winner” for best Filipino cuisine. Mental health awareness is the advocacy Jean is passionate for and with her this, she will be able to stand out at the pageant with grace.

Kara Granger

Kara Granger is blessed with an incredible height of 179 cm and hails from Chilliwack, British Columbia. She is a self-made, entrepreneur and philanthropist from Vancouver with a passion for beauty and fashion. She owns and operates a luxury power women’s suit line ‘Kara Louise Collection’ and recently expanded her in-store beauty line ‘Duchess Luxury’. She recently finished up her global reign in Beijing as Miss Globe. This year, she will focus on inspiring others to find their charitable passion as well as focusing on resources that help people move on from their traumatic past. She will surely win everyone’s heart with her mesmerising beauty and advocacy.

Lovepreet Sidhu

Lovepreet Sidhu was born and brought up in Brampton, Ontario and stands 176 cm tall. She will be entering her fourth year as an Honours Political Science student at Wilfrid Laurier University. Currently, she works as a receptionist/administrative assistant at Sidhu Traffic Tickets and is a part-time model. She is trilingual as she can fluently speak English, Hindi and Punjabi. She is very passionate about voicing political concerns that are often ignored due to the lack of awareness and interest shown by the general population. Moreover, she dreams of becoming a successful model and with this, she will be able to reach a higher degree of success.

Mattea Henderson

Mattea stands 176 cm tall and hails from Calgary, Alberta. She is a passionate and kind woman who seeks for excellence and personal growth in all aspects of life. she recently graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mount Royal University, majoring in Marketing and minoring in International Business. Mattea participated in various sports, and committed to community service and volunteering. She has been our favourite since the beginning of the pageant and had beauty talks with her.

Megha Sandhu

Megha stands 179 cm tall and hails from Montréal, Quebec. She is trilingual as she can speak English, French and Hindi fluently. She studied at Concordia University, majored in Behavioural Neuroscience. She can be considered a pageant veteran as she is best known for winning Miss Teenage Canada 2012 and for her 3rd runner up placement at Miss Universe Canada 2018. She also went on to compete at Miss Universe Canada 2018 and Miss Model of the World 2019 in China. With her vast experience, she has greater chances of winning a spot at the coronation night.

Miriam Mattova

Miriam stands 179 cm tall and hails from Toronto. She is a very hard-working person she has graduated from an international high school with honours and managed to finish her bachelors and master’s degree while pursuing her modelling career. She is currently the youngest student completing her doctorate degree in business and management. As per this beauty, this pageant is a wide platform that gives big opportunities to women all over Canada. She is a very ambitious person which can be an add on to her overall personality. Miriam along with being ambitious is also very optimistic and driven. With her positive and optimistic attitude, she will be able to secure a remarkable spot at the finale.

Sasha Lombardi

This gorgeous beauty belongs to Toronto and stands 176 cm tall. Sasha is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education Degree. The beauty is no stranger to pageantry as she is the reigning Miss Eco Canada, and placed second Runner-Up in the Miss Universe Canada 2018 pageant. She has dedicated a lot of time in non-profit organizations and has volunteered all over the world. Her advocacy includes the Salvation Army, Good Shepherd, Operation Smile, SOS Children’s Villages, Best Buddies, Socks4Souls Canada and Hands for Hunger. Versatility can be seen perfectly in this diva and with her all-rounder personality, she will gain a maximum amount of love and attention at the finale.

Tanja Grubnic

This 28-year-old beauty who stands 170 cm tall, is passionate about feminist research, as she has her sights set high on completing her PhD and becoming a great professor. Following her undergraduate studies in English Literature, she went on to graduate with a Masters in Cultural Studies and Critical Theory. She wrote her thesis on the power of popular culture, media, and celebrity in influencing the ways in which gender and national identity are experienced in society. She dreams of producing and hosting her own motivational documentary or talk show series one day by using her passion for writing and public speaking. With her passion and scintillating beauty, she will be able to secure a notable spot in the finale.

Tysia Suzuki

Tysia is a trilingual beauty who can speak English, Mandarin and Spanish fluently and stands 170 cm tall. She was born in Richmond and raised in Burnaby. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree and decided to drift away from clinical medicine to instead promote the importance of lifestyle choices and preventive healthcare. She has participated in many events and competitions as in 2012, she successfully auditioned and placed top 10 at the Chinese National Tibetan Folk Singing Competition in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Her charisma and mesmerising aura will help her to obtain success.
