Emmy Peña – From Miss World to Miss Universe?

Dominican Republic, in the last few years, has paved the way to bring home the next Miss Universe crown. In the last 4 editions, Dominican Republic managed to achieve 3 placements including one 4th runner up and one 2nd runner. At 2022 edition as well, Andreina Martinez from Dominican Republic achieved the 2nd Runner-up position.

As the 2023 edition of Miss Universe has been set to be held in El Salvador, wishlists are being prepared for the favourites to be sent to represent the countries at Miss Universe 2023. Dominican Republic’s Emmy Peña is one such candidate who can raise the country’s flag high and might as well bring the Miss Universe crown after two decades.



Emmy Peña is a Dominican model, actress and beauty queen. Hailing from Duarte, She is signed with EMG Models in New York, USA. Standing a whopping five feet eleven inches tall, Emmy has walked the runway in various fashion shows including Bronx and Banco S/S 20 Show, Flying Solo S/S 20 Show, Pyer Moss S/S 20 Show, RaisaVanessa S/S 20 Show, Maki Oh S/S 20 Show, Aliette S/S 20 Show and Gaucho Buenos Aires Spring 2020.

As an actor, Emmy played Camila in the Spanish film “Donde Quiera Que Vayas” (Wherever You Go), which was filmed in New York and released in 2016 in the U.S . Being a successful model and actor, Emmy already is a household name in her country.



Not new to the pageant world, Emmy, as Miss Mundo Duarte 2021, represented Duarte at Miss Mundo Dominicana 2021 and won the crown. At 24 years of age, Emmy represented Dominican Republic at Miss World 2021 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and placed in the Top 40. While she did not make it to Top 13, she won the Miss World Caribbean 2021 title. Taking in account her experience in pageantry, her stunning beauty and an amiable personality, Emmy will be a strong representative of Dominican Republic at Miss Universe 2023 if she decides to compete this year.
