After a long halt of 37 years, Guadeloupe is all set to return to the Miss Universe stage. The organization of Miss Universe Guadeloupe has announced the appointment of Danitzia Logis as the new Miss Universe Guadeloupe and Sint Marteen 2021. She will now head on to represent the Caribbean island at the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat, Israel in December.
“Ladies and gentlemen please Welcome Guadeloupe and Sin Marteen in Universe Danitzia Logis! Miss Universe is no longer a dream but now a reality! We will give the best and we will highlight the best of what our islands have to offer to promote our culture and our heritage on the international stage,” the organization wrote.
The 20 years-old Caribbean beauty stands 172 cm tall and has a degree in Management Economics and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Commerce. She is among those young Guadeloupeans with a business project participating in the Mon île, mon territoire competition, which will give personalized support and financial support of up to € 5,000 each to 10 selected projects, which will be announced in November 2021. She aims to create her own brand of period panties with a Caribbean touch.
She is no new to the pageant industry, she was crowned as Miss Garden 2016 and Miss Inter-Lycées Guadeloupe 2016. Later in 2017, she was crowned Miss Jeunesse Guadeloupe. Logis previously competed in Miss Guadeloupe 2019 and placed second runner-up. She competed alongside Clémence Botino who won Miss France 2020 and will represent France at the 70th Miss Universe.
Danitzia will be the first ever Miss Universe candidate to represent both Guadeloupe and Sint Marteen. She now has the task of achieving the first crown and classification for the French dependency which returns after 37 years of absence and debuted in 1977, having its last participation in Miss Universe 1984 with Martine Seremes.
