It was recently announced that there is new organization who will oversee crowning the representative of Guatemala for Miss Universe stage. The organization is chaired by Mrs. Guisela Aguilar Martínez and she has assured that after two years of being out of the international contest, Guatemala returns to the international contest. The delegates from all over the country will compete for the national title and a place at Miss Universe 2020 stage where the winner will represent Guatemala. The details will be announced soon.
With announcement of the new organization and possibility of hosting the coronation ceremony, wish list of the delegates are being made to look out for the potential one to represent Guatemala at Miss Universe 2020 stage. Jossie Ochoa has caught our attention and she seem potential and dedicated to represent the country at international stage.
Josephine Ochoa or Jossie is 28-years-old and stands 168 cm tall. She is a Guatemalan-American model and businesswoman. She is passionate about representing Guatemala at international stage and using the platform to raise awareness for her project that is to help children of low resources in Guatemala by collecting donations to personally bring them school supplies, hygiene products and food.
Jossie is not new to pageantry as she was crowned Miss Guatemala US 2014 and later became the organization’s Creative Director in 2015. She has appeared on regional, national, and international fashion and beauty platforms such as Univision Network's highest rated television show; Nuestra Belleza Latina where she represented Guatemala in 2014 and 2016 where she was placed as first runner-up and Top 10 at the end of the event finale.
Jossie has worked with various designers and brands in Guatemala and in Los Angeles which has not only given her the much-needed exposure into the world of beauty pageants but also experience and knowledge. She was invited to Central America's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, where she walked for several designers and represented Los Angeles. Ochoa was the first Guatemalan figure to appear at Fenway Park Stadium as a special guest of El Mundo Media and local community organization, Casa Guatemala, at the Xfinity Latino Family Festival.
The diva works very hard towards raising awareness for the children affected by cancer and for speaking on issues affecting the Central American immigrant community, Ochoa received a special recognition by the Consulate-General of Guatemala in Los Angeles. From conducting toy-drives for underprivileged children and participating with non-profits, the Senate of California, awarded Ochoa a special recognition, thanking her for her avid altruistic work. In 2015, Josephine founded a project called Mission Guatemala with the purpose of helping underprivileged children in Guatemala. Their mission is to raise donations and aid children by donating school supplies, food, and hygiene kits to for the villages within the country.
In 2017, the diva came out as a proud member of LGBTQ community with posting a picture with her girlfriend on her social media account. Jossie is now an ambassador of Fashion Nova, a host and CEO at Jossie Style. She works very hard to be at a position she is today and never fails to thank the one who have always kept her motivated and boosted her self moral to stay focused towards her dreams. She uses her account to talk about self-love and empowerment as well.
Jossie is beautiful, confident, and focused towards her goals and dreams and is very proud of her culture and traditions. She would be a potential delegate to represent Guatemala at Miss Universe 2020 stage as she is experienced, strong opinionated, and determined to represent Guatemala at international level.
