At the conclusion of the grand finale of Miss Universe Iceland 2017 held at Gamla Bíó in Reykjavík in Iceland, Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir was crowned Miss Universe Iceland 2017. She will now represent Iceland in the Miss Universe 2017 pageant to be held later this year.
Arna, Miss Northern Lights, is 22 years of age and has an innocent charm to her beauty and possesses a beautiful smile. She bested 16 other candidates to win the title of Miss Universe Iceland 2017. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Iceland 2016 Hildur María Leifsdóttir.
This track and field athlete is no stranger in the pageantry world. She was Miss Iceland 2015 who represented her country at the Miss World 2015 pageant held in China, and Miss Euro 2016 winner. She became one of the controversial beauty queens last year when she quit Miss Grand International 2015 after pageant organizers asked her to lose weight.
After winning the title she said that she was determined to stand up for herself, women worldwide and the Icelandic nation.
Now the beauty is aiming for the coveted title of Miss Universe 2017. Since Iceland has never won the title of Miss Universe so it will be interesting to see if Arna can make it to the Miss Universe winners' circle. Also, since she has already participated in the pageant earlier, she is quite familiar with the concept and notion of the pageant.
