At the conclusion of the finale of the Miss Universe Ireland 2017 pageant held in Dublin on August 31' 2017, Cailín Áine Ní Toibín has been crowned as the new Miss Universe Ireland.
As there was no Miss Universe Ireland pageant in 2016, she succeeds the 2015 winner Joanna Cooper. With Cailín as its representative, Ireland is all set for a great comeback in Miss Universe pageant. She defeated 29 other finalists competing to clinch the title. She has earlier won the title of Miss Universe Cork 2015 in April' 2015.
Famous Irish models Kerrie Nicole Blanc and Natalia Petric also attended the event, which was co-hosted by Brittany Mason, the pageant director and Miss India USA 2008.
The remaining finalists were Hayleigh O'Driscoll, Hannah Hawkshaw, Andrea Rooney, Kelly Horrigan, Alise Murniece, Jasmine Gerhardt, Angela Ferris, Róisín Gallagher, Hope Hickey, Simone Crawford, Megan O'Kane, Aine May Kennedy, Sophie Crinnion, Jill Connolly, Caoimhe O'Dwyer, Julieann McStravick, Jessica Palmer, Aoife McGrane, Sarah Kinsella, Sinéad Clifford, Sophie Amelia Bahl, Jade O'Neill, Leah Headon, Nuala Yazbeck, and Leanne Gray.
