Mark McDermoth, a director of the Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation explained, “There is a great deal in store for this year's pageant, as we are doing things differently on a variety of levels. First, without giving too much away, prior to our official launch, we are moving to a much larger venue to facilitate a more grand and large-scale production, interfacing more of the performing arts with the contestant appearances in unique, creative and exciting ways”.
