Miss Universe Malaysia 2015 also referred to as The Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2015 commenced as a reality show with webcast on the official YouTube channel of Miss Universe Malaysia. The webisodes aired on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30 pm (Kuala Lumpur time) that gave an insight to the pre pageant programs and about the contestants . However on March 11’ 2015, the pageant aired its first TV episode on 8TV at 9.30 pm (Kuala Lumpur time).
On the first episode of The Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2015, three out of the seventeen finalists were eliminated, namely - Ashley Ahn, Meera Maniar and Shalini Mathialagan. On the first episode of Miss Universe Malaysia 2015, the contestants had a fashion photoshoot where they had to pose with Maserati car.
Based on the photoshoot, the contestants were reviewed and analyzed by a panel of judges who then narrowed down five contestants to the elimination round. The Bottom 5 candidates were - Ashley Ahn, Kohinoor Kaur, Meera Maniar, Shalini Mathialagan and Shaelina Martin John Patrick. These five then had one last chance to convince the judges as to why they should be in the competition. After hearing out all the five contestants, the judges unanimously decided on eliminating Ashley Ahn, Meera Maniar and Shalini Mathialagan.
From competitive photo shoots to demanding fitness and catwalk challenges, who said becoming a beauty queen was easy? One out of the three eliminated contestants, however, still holds a chance to get back into the pageant, via public voting, wherein the fans can vote to save their favourite eliminated TNMUM15 finalist.
