At the grand coronation night of Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 held tonight at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Shweta Sekhon was crowned the new queen by the outgoing Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 Jane Teoh. Shweta Sekhon will now represent Malaysia in Miss Universe 2019.
The 22-year-old Shweta Sekhon proved her metal in the competition since the beginning of the competition. Not new to the pageant world, Shweta participated in Miss Universe Malaysia 2016 and emerged as the first runner-up. At the finale, the gorgeous beauty also won the award of Miss Glojas Glowing Beauty. She was also a part of Angelopedia's favourite contestants competing for the title.
The newly crowned queen’s court included –
First Runner-Up: Yaw Hui Jing (Frost Yaw)
Second Runner-Up: Tessminderjit Kaur (Tess)
Third Runner-Up: Lee Su Hsien (Su Lee)
Eighteen ladies competed for the title of Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 out of whom ten were selected by an accomplished panel of jury to move further in the competition – Nikita, Shweta Sekhon, Su Lee, Nisha, Frost Yaw, Rabecca Tan, Rishon, Tess, Tanushia, Christine.
A number of special awards were also given out at the finale –
Face of Muca – Frost Yaw
Miss Auto Bavaria Elegance – Christine Chai
Miss Glojas Glowing Beauty – Shweta Sekhon
Miss Habib – Nikita Menon
