The organization of Miss Universe Malaysia will be soon hosting a coronation ceremony for Miss Universe Malaysia 2021 where potential divas from all over the country will compete for the national crown and earn the opportunity to represent Malaysia at Miss Universe 2021.
After Francisca Luhong’s successful stint at the recently concluded Miss Universe 2020, the bar has been set high for the next queen to represent Malaysia at the international platform. Out of the few aspirants who have confirmed their intensions to join the national pageant, Melisha Lin has caught everyone’s attention as one of the favourites to represent the country at this year’s competition.
Melisha is 23 years-old and stand 177 cm tall, and is a graduate with Bachelors of Art in Marketing Management from the University of Greenwich. She has now been working as a Talent Manager and Marketing Manager for two different companies, a freelance host, model and mentor coaching girls and boys, Director of YANA Southeast Asia Mental Health Initiative and President Elect of Rotaract Club of Bukit Bintang.
Melisha’s journey in the beauty pageant world started two years ago when she started studying at Runway Productions and later competed at Global Asian Model International 2019 and feels immensely proud that in such quick and short time, she was able to represent her country internationally. She was also one of the finalists at Supra Star Search and was adjudged as a second runner-up.
The diva wants to use the international platform to advocate and create awareness about mental health in her country and has been working as an advocate for almost a year. She also recently took to her social media to share her experience with importance of mental health over the past few years. She wrote, “All those years, I try and tried to be perfect, but it's time for a change. You might not feel confident enough, pretty enough, smart enough but to me, YOU'RE ENOUGH. Your mental health matters, and no one should tell you otherwise.”
“If there's something that I want to do apart from breaking the stigma of mental health and making a difference, it will definitely be to break the stereotypes, standards of beauty and the need of being "perfect" on social media,” she added. Melisha has now set forth towards the journey to Miss Universe Malaysia 2021 as she has started to use hashtags such as #Melisha4Universe and #M4M in her recent posts confirming her intensions to join the pageant.
With such thoughts, beliefs, strong attitude, and determination to win the title and represent Malaysia at Miss Universe 2021 stage Melisha Lin emerges as one of the favourites for the title. She is quite confident about herself and with an amalgamation of bold and beauty, she will surely be able to stand out at the pageant.
