Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 reveals National Auditions details

The Miss Universe Malaysia organization is all set to host The Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 competition in the coming month of June. Returning after a gap year, Malaysia is all set to crown a new queen to represent the country at the Miss Universe 2022 pageant.

The pageant is also now geared up to host the National Auditions for this year’s edition. The auditions will take place at Myeg Tower, Level 43A on the 5th & 6th March 2022 (Saturday & Sunday) from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM respectively.

The organization has also released some guidelines and criteria for the attendees who are required to do COVID self-test before attending the audition. The aspirants will be required to register at the reception before proceeding to the venue.

 

 

This walk-in auditions is open to Non-Muslim, Malaysian female citizens, at least 18 - 26 years old before 1st January 2022, with an average height of 168cm and above. Contestants also must be able to communicate in any of the languages including, English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin or Tamil. The organization is looking for divas who are able to personify the values and attributes of being a Miss Universe Malaysia including, confidence, strong work ethics, commitment, professionalism, talent, grace and beauty.

Last year, the organization did not host any national pageant due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The organization stated limited international and domestic travel had hindered the staging of the pageant. Many people were critical of the decision, but it also worried many pageant lovers and followers.

 

 

During the same announcement last year, Elaine Daly, National Director of Miss Universe Malaysia had shared that the selection of Miss Universe Malaysia 2021 will be brought forward to the next following year, 2022. The candidates who were shortlisted from the previous auditions round do not need to attend this audition process. They will be notified about the next selection round via emails.

This year’s winner will succeed Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Francisca Luhong James, who represented the country at 69th Miss Universe. At the Miss Universe 2020 pageant, Francisca made it through the preliminary rounds however did not make it to the Top 21.The country has been a top achiever for the Asian continent at international pageants over years, especially Miss Universe.
