Miss Universe Myanmar is all set to hold its seventh edition - Miss Universe Myanmar 2019 – with twenty-seven gorgeous girls all geared to compete for the national finale. The finale is scheduled to be held on 31st May 2019 at Novotel Max Hotel, Yangon. Hnin Thway Yu Aung, Miss Universe Myanmar 2018, will crown her successor at the conclusion of the event and the crowned queen will go on to represent Myanmar in Miss Universe 2018 international beauty pageant to be held later this year.
Last year, besides the winner representing Myanmar in Miss Universe, the runners-up Su Myat Phoo and Nang Mway Phoung Loong represented Myanmar in Miss Grand International 2018 and Miss Intercontinental respectively. This year, too, the runners-up of Miss Universe Myanmar 2019 are expected to compete in Miss Grand International 2019 and Miss Intercontinental 2019.

Miss Universe Myanmar, which made its return to the international beauty pageants in 2013 with Moe Set Wine, has since then been sending its representative to compete in Miss Universe. From 2013 to 2018, Moe Set Wine, Sharr Htut Eaindra, May Barani Thaw, Htet Htet Htun, Zun Than Sin, and Hnin Thway Yu Aung have represented Myanmar in Miss Universe. Though the queens remained unplaced at the finale of Miss Universe, but have impressed both the audience and jury with their performances and attitude, and have been getting tremendous popular support.
National costume round is definitely one of the strong areas for Myanmar, and in the year 2015, Htet Htet Htun, Miss Universe Myanmar 2015, won the Best National Costume award in Miss Universe 2015.
