With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be hosted on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila.
Skelly Ivy Florida has become the official representative of Biliran for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 after she was confirmed at the red-carpet presentation held today in Manila. Skelly is 20-years-old and stands 167cm tall and is a student of Tourism Management at the Biliran Province State University. She is passionate about modeling and volleyball.
Skelly is not new to the pageantry as she participated and won the title of Miss Naval State University and Miss PASUC in 2017. She is strong, confident and determined towards winning the title and represent Philippines at Miss Universe 2020. The diva sure is well-experienced after being given chances to compete in the pageants.
The diva has an amazing personality and very sharp features that will help her outshine during the competition. She is referred to as Black Barbie Doll because her features are very similar to that of a barbie doll. She is determined, hard-working and patient when it comes to what she wants. She chases her dreams, but with patience as she believes that whatever will be hers, will come to her.
Skelly will be a strong contender as she is experienced in the field of beauty pageants and has knowledge about the fashion industry. She is very close to her family and has always expressed her gratitude towards them and anyone who has supported her in achieving her dreams. Since, she plays volleyball at a professional level, she is well-aware about how to work in a team and Miss Universe Philippines 2020 competition is where her abilities to stay calm, composed will help her.
Skelly is very confident and works on her on-stage walk and speech everyday to finesse it for the competition. She is very quick at learning things and takes her fitness very seriously. She can be a tough contender for the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 title.
Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados who was crowned on June 9, 2019 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City will crown her successor by the end of the event finale. The pageant aims to encourage Filipina women to become empowered individuals, who also embody the mission of being agents of meaningful change wherever they are. It trains participants to become role models, pursuing personal and professional goals, while also leaving and inspiring positive impact in society.
