With Miss Universe Philippines separating from Binibining Pilipinas in 2019, the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines i.e. Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be hosted on 3rd May 2020 in Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Pasay, Metro Manila.
Vincy L Valcalares hailing from El Salvador was selected as the official delegate of Cagayan De Oro at the red carpet presentation held on 14th February 2020. Graduated in 2017 from University of Science & Technology, Vincy is a certified high school educator in Corpus Christi School and aspires to be titled as Miss Universe Philippines 2020. Her long-term goal is to be crowned as Miss Universe whose journey eventually goes through Miss Universe Philippines.
Vincy is fond of children and wants to spread the word of education all over the world which is why she is aiming for the universal title rather than just Philippines. She is not a newbie in the world of pageantry. Back in 2016, she participated in MUTYA SA BUAHANAN and won the title of Miss Mutya Sa Buahanan. In 2019, she participated in Miss Cagayan De Oro and was crowned as third runner-up at the end of the event. She has also been a judge in XU’s Mr & Ms Ambassador 2019 and expressed her gratitude for being invited by a social media post.
Vincy is a cheerful girl with jolly personality. She loves horse riding and is a big foodie. Even after having endless love for food, she is fit and has a perfect figure. Vincy is a big fan of music and her favorite artists are Harry Styles, Taylor Swift and the Vamps. She is also a huge fan of Korean movies and loves K-Pop. Being a teacher, Vincy is dedicated, determined and hardworking which makes her a great competitor this year. It will be interesting to watch whether or not she will be able to represent Philippines at the Miss Universe 2020 runway and fulfil her dream of educating the underprivileged kids worldwide.
The finale of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 is scheduled to be held on 3rd May 2020 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Bay City, Metro Manila where Gazini Ganados Miss Universe Philippines 2019 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. The pageant is inspired by Miss Universe's slogan ‘Confidently Beautiful’ and henceforth has adopted the theme ‘Confident, beautiful, and empowered Filipinas.’
