Angel Rose Campo Tambal was crowned Miss Universe Philippines Leyte 2023 at the finale of the first edition of the state pageant held on 18th October 2023. Angel has now become the first ever representative of Leyte at Miss Universe Philippines 2024. Angel Rose Campo Tambal bested 20 other contestants to win the state crown.

Angel also bagged two major awards – Best in Swimwear and Best in Evening Gown at the finale night. B Creative Productions, the MUPH accredited partner, organized the state pageant and were applauded for their efforts. She is 24 years of age and an engineer by profession and has been preparing to represent her state at the national pageant which will be held in April next year.

Tambal advocates empowerment of the community through sustainable tourism which she plans to bring to the Miss Universe Philippines Organization. On winning the state crown, being a front runner, Angel expressed her surprise and quoted, “I am just really blessed because all of us have sacrificed a lot to represent our municipalities and cities and I was the one chosen.”

Along with her, Jamby Belegorio from Tacloban City was crowned Miss Philippines-Leyte 2023 while, Trisha Gabrielle Moreto of Tanauan was adjudged as the first runner-up, Nesylvie Dupal of Mahaplag was adjudged as the second runner-up, and Marrianne Niel Insigne of Barugo bagged the third runner-up position.

Miss Universe Philippines 2024 will be the fifth edition of the national pageant which will crown the representative of Philippines for Miss Universe 2024. Kayla will now begin her preparations to compete with the best of the best at Miss Universe Philippines 2024 where Michelle Dee Miss Universe Philippines 2023 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
