Karla Inelisse Guilfú Acevedo was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 at the finale of the national pageant held on Thursday, 24th August 2023 at the Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce in San Juan. Karla will now represent Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2023.
Karla Inelisse Guilfú Acevedo is 24 years of age hailing from Esmeralda del Sur, Patillas. She is a psychology graduate and a social justice and mental health advocate. The stunning beauty bested 29 other competitors to win the national crown. Karla rose to fame when she competed at Miss Supranational 2021 and she was named Miss Elegance and became runner-up to Chanique Rabe of Namibia.
The newly crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 Karla Inelisse Guilfú Acevedo’s court included –
1st Runner-up – Xarimar Acevedo Pabón of Río Grande
2nd Runner-up – Kiara Rivera Escudero of Toa Baja
3rd Runner-up – Fiorella Medina Pérez of Isabela
4th Runner-up – Isarel Marielis Román Almeda of San Lorenzo
Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 Ashley Cariño crowned Karla as her successor at the end of the event finale with the ‘Evolución’ crown. Ashley competed at Miss Universe 2022 and placed as the Top 5 finalist.
Miss Universe 2023, the 72nd edition of Miss Universe, is scheduled to be held in San Salvador, El Salvador on 18th November 2023 where Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
