Paweensuda Drouin crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2019

Miss Universe Thailand 2019 hosted its grand coronation night tonight where gorgeous beauties from all over the country competed for the national crown. As predicted, Paweensuda Drouin was crowned the new queen as she succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Thailand 2018 Ning Sophida and will now represent Thailand in Miss Universe 2019.

Paweensuda Drouin aka Fahsai Paweensuda, contestant no 19, was one of the strongest and loved contestants this year. Already winning two special awards of Perfect Pose and Best in Swimsuit at the preliminary competition, Paweensuda already established a strong foothold in the contest. Her prior experience in the pageantry also helped her in preparing for the contest as it was visible through her performance. The 25-year-old was also the winner of the Golden Tiara ticket as she made it to the Hot Picks of every pageant fanatic.

The newly crowned queen’s court included –

First Runner-Up - Miriam Sornprommas

Second Runner-Up - Thanatchaphon Boonsang

Fifty eight contestants entered the national competition to try their luck this year and as the coronation night began, the distinguished panel of jury cut the number down to Top 20 and it included Thanatchaphon Boonsang, Patraporn Wang, Patitta Suntivijj, Nuntinee Kleadmanee, Chawanluck Unger, Varitsara Bunpetch, Naruemon Sittiwang, Vetaka Petsuk, Paweensuda Drouin, Kamonporn Thongphon, Kim Docekalová, Kansuda Chanakeeree, Nuttawun Matchimwong, Miriam Sornprommas, Goonganya Boonpun, Risa Pongpruksatol, Pichayavee Jaroenruxe, Praewatchara Schmid, Chalisa Uttasart and Orawan Seepanamwan.

The Top 20 contestants then battled it out on the stage where various rounds were held to test the beauties in various fields and thus Top 10 were announced which included Thanatchaphon Boonsang, Patraporn Wang, Patitta Suntivijj, Chawanluck Unger, Vetaka Petsuk, Paweensuda Drouin, Kamonporn Thongphon, Kim Docekalová, Miriam Sornprommas, Praewatchara Schmid. Predictably, most of the contestants in the Top 10 were also a part of our Top 10 hot picks for the title!

The competition also had in attendance none other than Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray who sat in the panel of jury. She also crowned the new queen alongside Miss Universe Thailand 2018 Ning Sophida who took her last walk as the reigning queen and big an emotional goodbye to her title.

As the competition reached its conclusion, the top 10 was shot down to Top 5 and it included Thanatchaphon Boonsang, Patraporn Wang, Paweensuda Drouin, Kim Docekalová, Miriam Sornprommas. The results again remained unsurprising because these beauties showed promise and excellence since the beginning of the competition.

The Top 5 walked the stage in their evening gowns and mesmerised everyone with their performance. The last cut of Top 3 was made as the beauties then went through the question and answer round showing fluency, intelligence and dedication to their cause. The finale was indeed a beautiful night as Thailand crowned a promising candidate for the Miss Universe 2019 crown.
