Trinidad and Tobago return to Miss Universe under Crowns and Sashes

Crowns and Sashes modelling agency has recently announced the take over as the new holders of Miss Universe franchise for Trinidad and Tobago. “It gives us great pleasure to announce our return to the Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago (MUTT) franchise; adding it to our suite of recognized global beauty pageant brands,” they shared.

The agency also released a press release that stated, “T&T's leading pageant academy, Crowns & Sashes has received the official nod of approval from the Miss Universe Organization to produce the local leg of the prestigious international beauty pageant. It gives us great pleasure to add the Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago franchise to our suite of recognized global beauty pageant brands.”

 

Trinidad and Tobago return to Miss Universe under Crowns and Sashes

 

Crowns and Sashes started their journey in the world of international beauty pageantry in 2019 with Miss Supranational, one of the Big 5 pageants, the award winning academy has grown over the last year with the addition of Miss Top Model Trinidad and Tobago and Mister Supranational Trinidad and Tobago. To date, its successes include Top 24, Miss Supranational 2019 and 2020, and most recently, Top 5 finish at the Top Model of the World Pageant in Egypt.

Trinidad and Tobago was last represented at the Miss Universe pageant in 2017 and has won the pageant twice - in 1998 by Wendy Fitzwilliam and in 1977 by Janelle ‘Penny' Commissiong, the first black woman to win the prestigious crown.

The organization has also officially opened the national casting for the 2022 edition of the Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago pageant. Young women between the ages of 18 and under 28 years (before November 2022) may now apply via their official website.
