The Miss Universe organization along with Yugen Events have recently announced that Dubai will soon be hosting the first-ever Miss Universe UAE pageant. “It’s not just about a parade of beauty, or a celebration of intelligence. It’s about the heart and the purpose to serve,” with these words, Josh Yugen officially introduced the Miss Universe United Arab Emirates during a press conference held at the Armani Hotel, Dubai.
“I could not be more pleased to welcome the first-ever representative of United Arab Emirates, to our globally televised event in December,” said Paula M. Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization. “The UAE is marking a very important time in its history, from the signing of the Abraham Accords, to hosting the World Expo, and there has never been a better time to shine a spotlight on the women residing in this country,” she added.
The organization also released the official timeline for the national pageant debuting in the industry. So, without any further ado, here is the official schedule of events and activities for Miss Universe UAE 2021 –
7th – 14th October – Online Application for all UAE residents aged 18-28
15th October – In person casting call at Al Habtoor Palace Hotel
20th October – Top 30 Announcement
20th – 30th October – Photoshoot, Runway Challenges, Commercial Shoots, Preliminary Active wear, Evening Gown and Closed Door Panel Interview
7th November – Grand Final at La Perle in Al Habtoor City, Dubai
The premiere edition of the legendary pageant will be held live and in partnership with the spectacular entertainment venue La Perle at Al Habtoor City, Dubai. The members of the council are Josh Yugen, President and National Director, and the Founder and CEO of Yugen Group and XPEDITION Magazine, Alaf Meky, Head of Charities and Philanthropy, Zel Ali, Head of Compassion and Empowerment, Sharihan Al Mashary, Head of Communications and also the first-ever female Emirati Hotel GM in the UAE, Maggie Wilson, Creative Consultant and Furne Amato, Head of Creatives, Fashion and Design.
The three-hour event will feature women representing the beauty and essence of the UAE competing in multiple categories, including personal statement, couture active wear, evening gown and interview. Their website is already live and girls can apply for the first edition. The winner of Miss Universe UAE will advance to the international stage, the 70th edition of the Miss Universe, held in Israel in December, 2021.
