The 71st edition of Miss Universe, Miss Universe 2021, will be held next year where Harnaaz Sandhu of India will crown her successor at the end of the event finale. While the countries have begun their search to find their representative for the upcoming edition, Venezuela has already crowned Amanda Dudamel, the country’s representative at Miss Universe 2022.

Amanda Dudamel was crowned Miss Venezuela 2021 at the national final held on 28th October 2021. Born in Mérida, Amanda is the daughter of former Venezuelan soccer player Rafael Dudamel and Nahir Newman Torres, a Venezuelan real estate agent.

Amanda is also a psychologist by profession and is 24 years of age. On being crowned Miss Venezuela 2021, Amanda wrote, “Thank you for allowing me to enter your hearts and for accompanying me with so much love in this dream. I have been sharing through my stories some anecdotes from last night and my first day as Miss Venezuelaaaaa, I still can not believe. Although now I would love to read it and know how they lived last night. Tell me all that I am dying to know your impressions of tonight.”

Amanda has had the opportunity to learn so much about the culture and languages of various countries such as Colombia, Chile and South Africa because of her parents’ professional career. She became fluent in English because of her adventures. In addition to English, she also is fluent in Italian and Spanish.

Amanda studied her professional career in fashion design in the city of Rome, Italy. She is the Creative Director of Made in Petare, an accessories brand that was created to financially support the ‘Un Par Por Un Sueño’ foundation. Through her profession, Amanda contributes to the work of the foundation where more than 1000 children are fed daily in different dining rooms in Petare (Venezuela). They also include mothers as part of the process, offering them training and job opportunities that allow them to empower themselves and support their families financially.

On the way to her journey to Miss Universe 2022, Amanda has remained humble and hard working. Remembering her crowning, Amanda said, “Today they asked me what I felt when thinking that my name would be part of the history of our country along with women like Barbara Palacios, Irene Sáez, Maritza Sayalero and many other Venezuelans who have proudly carried the flag of our land before the universe, leaving us exalted as a nation.”

“The first thing that came to my mind was a book, the book where each of them has written their chapter and where I, on a Thursday, October 28, 2021, began to write mine, ours, that of an entire country that I know that he will accompany me this year and together with those who want to enjoy this journey. Many of you have been part of this story from the beginning, even before the EPI, many others have joined this journey recently, but anyway, today together we are all VENEZUELA and together we will make this year an unforgettable one”, she added.

Amanda has the confidence, aura and determination to succeed in the pageant world. Her journey has been inspiring as she will make a strong representation at the upcoming Miss Universe.
