Miss Vietnam Organization had announced that the pageant that was scheduled to take place from May to August 2020 will be postponed due to the outbreak of the pandemic Covid-19. But recently in a press conference the Miss Vietnam 2020 beauty contest kicked off on 13th May 2020 after the pandemic is contained.
Miss Vietnam is one of the most prestigious beauty pageants in the country, aiming to honor knowledge, morality, and beauty of Vietnamese women. The winners of the contest are always chosen to be representatives of the country in international beauty pageants with the name 'Decade of flavor' as a memorable milestone for this meaningful journey.
The Miss Vietnam organization stated, the contest not only brings opportunities but also challenges to make the dreams of beautiful, smart, and brave young girls come true. The conference was attended by Miss World Vietnam 2018 TiuVy, Miss Grand Vietnam 2018 Phuong Nga, Miss Intercontinental Vietnam 2019 Thuy An, Miss World Vietnam 2017 Do My Linh, Miss World Vietnam 2019 Luong Thuy Linh, Miss Grand Vietnam 2019 Kieu Loan, Miss International Vietnam 2019 Tuong San, Miss Vietnam 1992 Ha Kieu Anh, World Miss University 2019 - Thanh Khoa, and Miss Asia Pacific International Vietnam 2018 Thuy Vi. All the girls wore white dresses in the event. This is a tribute to the sacred white color of Medicine.
According to the news, the prequalification will take place in the month of July whereas the finals for two regions will take place in the month of August and September. The grand finale is expected to take place in the month of October or early November. This year’s winner will receive a crown and a cash prize of VND500 million (US$21,700). The first and second runners-up will receive cash prizes of VND300 million and VND250 million respectively.
Women aged 18 to 27, at least 1.65m tall without cosmetic surgery are eligible to enter the contest. Participation is limited to unmarried women who have never given birth or parented a child.Besides the top prizes, the organizers will also award titles such as Miss Talent, Miss Sea, Miss Fashion, Miss Sport, and Beauty with a Purpose.
