The first Spanish beauty to be crowned as Miss World – Mireia Lalaguna. Mireia is about to reach the end of her reign, and in just 4 days, the Spanish beauty will pass on her crown to one of the aspirants of the 2016 batch. With few days left for the gala finale, the Miss World Organisation took out time to involve into a candid chat with the beauty queen, and get to know about her feedback on the year.

Mireia talked about her reign and said that it was much more than what she imagined. “My life has changed completely and I can say that I’m now a totally different person. I have grown so much. Helping others and traveling is the best way to learn about yourself,” said Mireia. Now that Mireia is about to finish her reign, she looks at all the contestants this year and feels like enjoying the moment again. The beauty queen said that she would like to be back to the culture again and relive all of the competitions- Sports, Top Model, etc.

Mireia also has three pivotal tips for the next Miss World. The tips that she shared were -

“1. Your year will be amazing but also filled with many challenges- Try to learn from your mistakes and turn them into your successes.

2. Experience deeply every country that you visit- its culture, food and most importantly its people.

3. Try to influence as many lives as possible- use your title to make a difference.”

When Mireia won the Miss World 2015 crown, she was still in her final year of Pharmacy in Denmark. The beauty queen managed to peacefully juggle between her study and her tours and trips as the reigning queen. “I feel my career has a lot of relation to my title. Even though I have so many opportunities with Miss World and the future, I still want to maintain part-time studies,” said Mireia when asked about how she managed studying while being Miss World.

Mireia also shared some of the highlights of her reign and said that her spot for the TV show Stars, where she got to work with Cristiano Ronaldo, was an unforgettable experience for her. She won $20,000 and donated it to her Beauty with a Purpose Project. Winning the Celebrity Luxury Award by Princess Beatrice d'Orléans for her charity work throughout her year was also another moment that she will cherish for life. Another memorable event in Mireia’s life was while she attended a dinner party with Boris Johnson.

Mireia also share that being the first Miss World from Spain has not just garnered a lot of appreciation for her, but it has also opened the doors for the people in her country to know more about the pageant. “Being the first Spanish winner helps to highlight the values of Miss World and now my country knows what this competition is all about and they know about Beauty with a Purpose.”

At the end, Mireia thanked the Miss World Organisation for believing in her. She also thanked Julia Morley, who has been a mentor and as she says, a “Mom” for her. “Thank you for making me grow and teaching me so many life lessons,” concluded Mireia.
