Jing Kong of China wins the Miss World 2016 Top Model contest. Jing Kong defeated 120 delegates to clinch the coveted award. The announcement about the winner of Top Model was announced officially by the Miss World Organisation on their Facebook page. In just two days, reigning Miss World Mireia Lalaguna of Spain will crown one of the delegates as her successor and as the next Miss World.

Recently, Miss Cook Islands made it as the first finalist for Miss World 2016 after winning the Sports Challenge, and now Miss China becomes the second contestant to have made to the finalists list by winning the Top Model Competition. Following Miss China was Indonesia’s Natasha Mannuela who earned the second runner-up title, and Dominican Replublic’s Yaritza Reyes who made it as the second runner-up. France’s Morgane Edvige and Kenya’s Evelyn Njambi Thungu completed as the Top 5 finalists.

The Top Model contest is one of the sub contests of the pageant and was started in the year 2004. Since 2007, the winner of the Top Model contest has been qualifying to the semi-finalists circle. There have been instances when the Top Model winner has also won the Miss World title, including, Zhang Zilin (2007),  Ksenia Sukhinova (2008), Megan Young (2013) and Mireia Lalaguna (2015).

The finale of Miss World 2016 is slated to be held on 18th December 2016 at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States, Washington, D.C. At the conclusion of the finale, Mireia Lalaguna of Spain will pass on her crown to one of the delegates. Who do you think will win the coveted title this year?
