Miss World 2016 pageant is heading towards the finale in all excitement and fervour. The gala coronation is slated to be held on 18th December 2016 and the delegates are in full swing giving their best shots to make a noticeable impact. Apart from the rehearsals and training, the delegates are also enjoying various mini events as part of their preliminary activities.

During one such event, the contestants participated in the MetroCooking DC, Continental Cook-Off challenge. The contestants were divided into six teams by continent- The Americas, The Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Each team was asked to prepare a “Brunch” for a panel of celebrity judges. The delegates were required to use the given ingredients which included an apple, sweet potatoes, and Greek yogurt. The girls were also allowed to each provide their own special, secret ingredient.
The cook-off challenge was timed at 30 minutes, and the judgement was on the basis of the taste, presentation and teamwork. The judging panel consisted of Kyle Schmitz, Chef AJ, and Chef Sed. The six dishes prepared by the six continents were -
Team Asia created a Sri Lankan style Omelette, bread pudding, Mongolian tea, and chopped chicken. Team Europe decided to make a parfait. Team Caribbean opted for stuffed tilapia with sweet potato and Team Oceania decided to take a healthy take with protein pancakes. Team Africa kept things flavourful with some egg and sweet potato as well as a Greek yogurt dessert and finally The Americas kept things simple with bacon and pancakes!
It was hard for the judges to come to a conclusion, and according to them Team Asia and Caribbean prepared the best dishes. But at the end, the judges unanimously announced TEAM CARIBBEAN as the winner.
