The exciting finale of the 66th edition of Miss World beauty pageant held on 18th December 2016 at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States just south of Washington, D.C., concluded with the crowning of Stephanie Del Valle Diaz of Puerto Rico as the winner. Stephanie Del Valle Diaz succeeds Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna of Spain.
Stephanie Del Valle Diaz clinched the coveted crown after defeating 117 contestants from other countries from around the globe who were vying for the coveted title. At the same pageant, Miss Dominican Republic Yaritza Reyes was titled as the first runner-up and Miss Indonesia Natasha Mannuela was adjudged the second runner-up. Miss Philippines Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray and Miss Kenya Evelyn Njambi finished as the Top 5.
The pageant started with the pre recorded introduction of the contestants, followed by the opening number. Miss World 2013 Megan Young and actor Jason Cook were the hosts for the show. This year, the Miss World pageant introduced various new segments.
The Top Model contest happened for the first time in the Miss World pageant. It was won by Miss China. The Sports competition was won by Miss Cook Islands, Multimedia Award was won by Miss Philippines, Beauty with a Purpose was won by Miss Indonesia, and Talent Round was won by the gorgeous Miss Mongolia who charmed the spectators with her magical talents. These delegates were advanced to the Top 20 Semi-finalists of Miss World 2016.

The Top 5 finalists then went through a Question and Answer round. The event went on with another amazing musical performance as all the delegates walked down the stage in gorgeous evening gowns. The gala concluded with the announcement of the winner and runners-up.
