Miss World Organization along with the reigning queen Manushi Chhillar and the continental queens started the first leg of the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ tour in Hyderabad, India.
With a view to raising awareness about the menstrual hygiene, the queens launched ‘Female Hygiene Awareness’ campaign in Hyderabad. Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar has been advocating menstrual health and hygiene even before the beginning of her Miss World journey.
Manushi Chhillar talked at length about her involvement and what is being done to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene through her pet project ‘Shakti’. The project ‘Shakti’ provides education to the men and women in the rural areas of the country about menstrual hygiene and the importance of the use of sanitary napkin.
The continental queens – Miss World Kenya 2017 Magline Jeruto (Africa), Miss World Mexico 2017 Andrea Meza (Americas), Miss World Korea 2017 Ha-eun Kim (Asia), Miss World Jamaica 2017 Solange Sinclair (Caribbean) , Miss World England 2017 Stephanie Hill (Europe) and Miss World New Zealand 2017 Annie Evans (Oceania) joined the reigning queen on the tour.
