Miss World 2021 Head to Head Challenge Interview – Group 12

The round was hosted by Miss World 2019 Toni Ann Singh and Miss World 2015 Stephanie Del Valle. The stunning hosts introduced the challenge as they introduced the contestants, shared their presentation videos and asked questions and finally the contestants were asked questions at the end of the round.

As the divas introduced themselves and took the audience through their beautiful countries, sharing about their cultures, people and beliefs. They also shared their passions and Beauty with a Purpose projects. Towards the end of the round, the six divas were all randomly questioned by the hosts.

First up questioned by the hosts was Nigeria’s Oluchi Madubuike who was asked, “What is the most important lesson for us to learn from life?”, to which she answered, “I think that the most important lesson that we have to learn from life was one that I recently learned after working through covid. I was a frontline worker in covid and juts going through such an experience taught me that you really never give up because you have to show up for people that need your help, that need you to be who you are, they need to see the blessings that god has bestowed on you and every time you give up, you are not allowing people the opportunity to experience you and experience all the gifts that you possess. I really want to say that it is unrealistic for you to think that you will go through life so smoothly, there will be bumps and tough times but you have to push through because beyond all those hills are all the blessing and all the love and giving and support that you will have for the world and the world needs to experience that.”

Next up, Krysthelle Barretto of Panama was asked about her picture perfect moment in her life. She shared, “When I was working in my foundation, I had to take many donations ot a very far away community, with very crooked roads and I was so stressed, worrying if I could give all the things that I wanted to give to the children, and I was so in my mind when I got there and I saw all of the children waiting for me with music, cheering me on and excited to see me. That’s when my mindset shifted that even though I was going there to help them, they will nourish me much more than I could ever do. My project, even though it works to give opportunity to children through education, so they can achieve their own dreams, it is also about showing the world our culture, diversity and showing all the beautiful and legendary knowledge that they have and can give to the world.”

Mexico was up next as the hosts asked Karolina Vidales, “What is the most important thing parents should teach their children?” Appreciating the question coming her way, she answered, “I have always believed that young age is the most determining age of all because when children are so little and genuine they’re really absorbing everything they see and hear and something more important I think would be for them to learn to be children. They grow up around adults sometimes and just growing up over so many older people, you really have to find your personality and from a very young age know that you have to be yourself and really explore the different things there is to do. So I believe that parents must really involve in children, responsibility, self-love and the desire to follow their dreams.”

Korea’s Tara Hong was asked about one piece of advice she could give her younger self, to which she responded, “I wish I could give like a list of advice but one thing I think living as a military child, it is very intimidating and I just hope to tell that don’t be afraid to be going out of your comfort zone, you should feel confident about yourself, where you are from and your identity. I want you to explore the world because life is too short. Stay at home with your family and I want you to take those steps and really become a brighter child for the future.”

Next in line, Spain was asked, “What is one of the biggest challenges that the world is facing today?” Ana Segundo answered, “I think one of the biggest problem of the world today is obviously Covid. The world is missing solidarity and also empathy to pass this problem. We need to help each other to pass this pandemic.”

Last but not the least Naomi Dingli of Malta was asked about the best way to promote women empowerment according to her, to which she replied, “The best way to promote women empowerment is to always be there for each other, to always help each other, support each other and mostly to listen to each other. Nowadays, with social media it does help us but sometimes it can always break us as well so I believe that you should always believe in yourself, to help one another, listen, support each other and even today with my Miss World sisters, its always good to help each other in every way.”

The divas from all over the world will move forward in the 15 groups drawn by the organization, where each group will have a winner and then two by two winners will compete with one another until one ultimate winner is determined through voting on the Miss World website, who will then get an automatic spot in the top for the final night. In this challenge, each of the ladies are being given the chance to speak about their passions and Beauty with a Purpose projects.
