Belize has a representative for Miss World 2016 pageant. Former Miss San Pedro Iris Salguero has been crowned as the Miss World Belize 2016. The finale was held on 22nd October 2016 at the Log Cabin Inn in the Cayo District. Iris will now represent the country at the Miss World 2016 pageant.
Iris competed with three other contestants Moesha Shaw from Belize City, Kayla Lewis from Roaring Creek Village and Krystalee Martinez from Belmopan City for the title. Salguero celebrated her victory with her family members and friends and shared her feelings and emotions about the pageant. “I want to see a change and I am definitely looking forward to helping out,” she said. Iris is not new to the world of beauty pageants and has previously won the Top Model and Miss Eloquent pageants.
Iris said that her experience in beauty pageants has made her confident for the upcoming Miss World pageant. “I am very thankful for the girls that competed in the pageant. I am so happy to find out that they have the same mind-set as I do, which is to give back to the community,” said Salguero. “Between now and then I will be training very hard, getting my costumes, and practicing on my introductions and different presentations that I will be displaying at the event,” she continued.
Since 1987, Belize has been participating in Miss World pageant but hasn’t had any luck with the title. The journey at this year’s Miss World pageant is going to be tough, as many stunners are competing this year for the title.
