Former Miss World and a Global Star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to return to the big screen as she will be seen in Mani Ratnam’s period drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan – Part 1’. The makers have dropped the first look of the star cast of the film and the audience is mesmerized.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also presented the poster on her social media as she can be seen dressed in a red saree with golden borders and royal gold jewellery. While sharing her first look from the much-awaited fictional drama, the actress wrote in her Instagram account, “The golden era comes to the big screens on September 30th”.
Ponniyin Selvan – Part 1, directed by Mani Ratnam, is based on the Tamil literary novel of the same name. The upcoming film which is expected to be released in Tamil and Hindi languages among others, also stars Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram, and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles.
Aishwarya and Mani Ratnam share a close bond with each other as Aishwarya marked her film career with Mani Ratnam’s ‘Iruvar’ only. The duo later worked on films like ‘Guru’ and ‘Raavan’ and Aishwarya is now known as the queen of period dramas.
