Beauty is skin deep, and the Miss World pageant has time and again proven it. The Miss World pageant holds a great relevance, not just because it is the oldest international pageant, but also because of its unique concept of “Beauty with a Purpose”. Every year, the pageant selects a Beauty who has a purpose to fulfil throughout the year. Also, what’s great, is to see that the BWAP is not just limited to the winner. The national beauties are also dedicatedly working towards their beauty with a purpose projects.
One such beauty is the Israeli beauty, Miss World Israel 2016 Karin Alia. Karin has recently joined the Krembo Wings Organisation as a counsellor. Krembo Wings is a youth movement leading social change, and integrating children and youth with and without disabilities. This organisation is the only one of its kind in the world. The organisation holds weekly social-educational activities in the afternoons, implementing the modal of personal counselling in a group setting.
Now, since Karin has joined in as one of the counsellors, she will participate in all the activities together with those with disabilities. The Organisation is in its fourth year at Kiryat Gat branch. When Karin joined the branch, she had to go through a training session in which she was given proper knowledge about the world of disabilities, and the values and vision of Krembo Wings.
Karin is the counsellor to a 16 year old member, Vitali Litanov. Vitali has Cerebral Palsy, and Karin has created a wonderful bond with him. Karin, along with two other counsellors Haim and Diana, is working with Vitali. The beauty queen has created a comfort zone with all three of them. It’s really wonderful to see Miss World Israel 2016 Karin Alia take this generous step towards the society.
