Washington DC in the USA will be the launch site for the Misss World 2016 competition. The reigning Miss World Mireia Lalaguna made the official announcement on Good Day DC show on Fox5.
“The Miss World Organization (MWO) is proud to announce Washington, DC as the launch site of the 2016 Miss World competition. For the first time in history, over 130 countries are expected to arrive in the nation’s capital to start their journey to becoming Miss World,” as announced by the Miss World Organisation.

The scheduled Press Conference however did not take place, but Mireia Lalaguna along with Miss World America 2016 Audra Mari will make an appearance on Fox News this morning. The MWO with Julia Morley and Miss World Mireia Lalaguna will return back to USA on August 8’ 2016 to unveil new details about this year’s pageant, including full details on the location, date, and time of the Grand Finale.
The contestants for the Miss World 2016 will start arriving to the venue by the end of November. This year the contestants will have to go through a series of challenges and interviews that will help determine who will win the coveted title of Miss World 2016 and become the ambassador of “Beauty with a Purpose”.
The reigning Miss World Mireia who is currently touring and travelling around Washington said, “We will return on the 8th when we will have even more news about this year’s momentous occasion! As sad as I will be to be finishing my reign, I can’t wait to return here in December to feel the magic of Miss World in the United States!”
