The gala finale of Miss World 2016 finally came to a conclusion and Puerto Rican beauty Stephanie Del Valle was crowned as the winner. The glorious crowning ceremony attracted criticism after the shocking exclusion of Miss World Philippines 2016 Catriona Gray from the Top 3 finalists. There were many who criticised and expressed their disappointment on the matter. Fans also didn’t shy away to show their support for Catriona she missed out on the crown.

In fact, Catriona’s pageant industry friends made sure to cheer up the 22 year doll by posting motivational and supportive messages for the beauty. Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann posted a message for her best friend Catriona and wrote...

“To those who know their mission – no affirmation is required. To those who believe in you and in what you strive to achieve – no reward, sash, or crown is necessary. For those whom you work for – the people at the heart of your advocacy – all that is needed is for you to keep going. Your journey has inspired us but it is far from over. Just keep going... Love you [Catriona Gray]! You have made us all proud!"

Weigmann was not the only one, in fact Jonas Gaffud of Aces and Queens also showed his support ot Catriona and said he is proud of her. He also urged the Filipino fans not to post nay negative comments about Catriona’s loss.

Jonas said: "Hey c'mon Philippines. If we won, no hatred on Facebook right? But we did not. Let's be proud as Filipinos and pageant fans of our girl Catriona Gray. For us she will be always our Miss World. But there are other families, friends and fans who root for their girls as well."

"I was touched by how happy he was for his daughter. Remember this: We are not alone in this world. There are others," he added.

He also praised Catriona on his instagram post and wrote...

“Still so proud of Miss Philippines Catriona Gray for making it to the Top 5 at Miss World 2016. No rants here on my timeline, just positive, congratulatory remarks. Salamat po. :-)” He further wrote, “A top three finish would have been great, but I was hopeful of the blue crown. Nevertheless, I am still very proud of your achievement at Miss World @catriona_gray . Top 5 is tough. Wishing you the best on your future endeavors.”

Designer Bessie Besana also congratulated Catriona and Stephanie, and wrote...

"I hope we Filipinos respect the outcome of the competition. It was heartbreaking as we saw how hard Cat fought and did her best. But unfortunately, it was not her fate. Let us all remember to be gracious to each other and show the world that we are grateful for the blessing it has bestowed upon us. Mabuhay ka Cat! And I am excited to see your career prosper more, I hope as a singer because you are one helluva talent!"
