"As a little girl I always knew that I wanted to be somebody that made a positive difference in the world which is why I made it my mission to do as much as I could for my country and community. I strived to work hard and work towards my goal of one day representing my country on a global platform and bring awareness to the many charitable causes that I’ve been a part of over the years," the Sri Lankan queen recollected on her social media handle.

Sri Lanka last competed in the international competition in 2019 under the delegation of Miss World Sri Lanka 2019 Dewmini Thathsarani, who was highly appreciated for her performance at the event but unfortunately remained unplaced. This year, Sade Greenwood will represent the island country at the 70th edition of Miss World pageant which is set to be held on 16th December 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will crown her successor at the end of the event.
