At the conclusion of the finale of Miss World Zimbabwe 2017, held on 22nd July 2017 in Borrowdale Brooke Golf Course, Chiedza Lorraine Mhosva was crowned as the winner. She defeated 15 other contenders to win the title.She walked away with a cash prize of $20000 dollars and a brand new car.
In an interview, the University of Cape Town film and acting student, Chiedza Lorraine Mhosva, said she was thrilled and excited when announced as the winner.“I am excited and still can't believe this. It has been my dream and I thank God for the opportunity. The first thing that I am going to do with the money is take my mother out.
"It has been long since I did that. I also want to pay my tuition fees and at the same time look for someone who would want the same assistance.” She said.
At the same event, Everlyn Njelele was crowned as the first princess and walked away with $10000, while Kundai Claire Somerai was titled as the second Princess and walked away with $5000. The people's choice award and Miss Personality was won by Tariro Zvizhizji. Miss Personality award was based purely on a voting system.
This year's edition ran under the theme, “Celebrating Beauty through the eyes of our late icon Kiki Divaris.”
