Mona Taio crowned as Miss Earth Cook Islands 2017

Mona Taio has been crowned as Miss Earth Cook Islands 2017 on 29th July 2017 at National Auditorium. She will now represent Cook Islands at Miss Earth 2017 which will be held on 4th November 2017 in the Philippines.

At the same time, Alanna Smith was crowned as Miss Cook Islands 2017. Alanna will represent Cook Islands at Miss World 2017, scheduled to be held on 18th November 2017. Silas Tuaputa was declared as Second Runner up who will compete at Miss International 2017 to be held on 14th November 2017 in Japan.

Mona was a former Land Trust Accounts Clerk at Ministry Of Justice Cook Islands, and the beauty is engaged to Nick Kiimia. Apart from the title, she also won 'Avaiki Pearls' jewellery & other amazing prizes.  After winning the title, she thanked her friends and family for all the support.

The outgoing queen Allanah Herman Edgar passed the crown and reign to her successor Mona Taio. Allanah also congratulated Mona on her victory and gave her the best wishes for the future. She wore a beautiful white and blue coloured traditional outfit during the finale night. Cook Islands have never won the title of Miss Earth. Let’s see if this year’s representative will be able to bring home the crown or not.
