The finale of 46th edition of Mrs. Universe was held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater on 8th October 2023 where Meranie Gadiana Rahman, a filipina beauty queen hailing from Hawaii, was crowned the new Mrs. Universe 2023.
Meranie Gadiana made history by becoming the first ever Hawaiian and Filipina to win the international crown. She is originally from Talisayan, Misamis Oriental and studied in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, but now resides in Hawaii, USA.
Not new to the pageantry, Rahman also competed in Mrs. World in 2021. She is an advocate for postpartum depression awareness in the Filipino community in Hawaii and also has a nonprofit, ‘You are Loved’ Foundation.
As Mrs. Universe 2023, Meranie will spread awareness about domestic violence, school and internet bullying, and post-partum depression. “So we’ll do a medical mission as well as I will talk about domestic violence since October is a domestic violence month and I will give awareness to everyone especially the women who suffer silently. And not actually this is not just for women but also men”, she spoke.
Also at the finale, Kalpana Shukia from India, Arlene Cris Damot from Philippines, Emma Melik-Adaman from Black Sea and Anna Pechurina from Moscow were adjudged as the first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.
Congratulations!
