The much awaited National Costume Competition of Miss International 2015 was held on November 3’ 2015, at the pageant finale of Miss International Japan 2016. The competition was a nerve wracking moment for the contestants, as well as the audiences. The winner of the Best National Costume will be awarded during the finale of Miss International 2015, to be held on 5’ November 2015.

The Latin American countries pulled out all the stops, with glitzy carnival costumes drawing on their heritage. It was a delight, watching the Latinas walk in their flamboyant and regal costumes. The whole ambience blossomed with colourful attires flashing everywhere. It was all vibrant and shimmery, as the Latinas proudly paraded in all festive moods.

Talking about colour, how can we forget the Asian beauties? What dominated the costumes of Asian beauties were their bold yet subtle use of colours and opulent elegance. Their costumes portrayed their national culture in a majestic, yet a very traditional way. Janicel Lubina from Philippines explained her white magnificent long gown and said, “I was known as the Cinderella of the Philippines, why not let’s make it INTERNATIONALLY.”

For the Europeans, it was a blend of different traditions and customs. Netherlands kept the red, blue and white as the dominant colours for their costumes. Norway, on the other hand, depicted the typical Norwegian farm culture. The European girls were clearly identifiable with their National Costumes, exhibiting every bit of their culture.

At the same event, Jyunna Yamagata was crowned as the Miss International Japan 2016. The finale of Miss International 2015 is scheduled to be held on November 5’ 2015. The reigning Miss International, Valerie Hernandez from Puerto Rico, will pass on her crown and her reign to her successor at the conclusion of the event.
