As informed to you in our previous news about the newly crowned Miss Botswana 2015 Seneo Mabengano. Well, we have another update for you from the pageant. You must have heard about the delegates not able to enter the pageant, because they are not tall enough or because they do not qualify under the given criterions. But this one is new and bizarre at the same time. Ever since the crowning of Miss Botswana 2015 Seneo Mabengano, social media has been buzzing with comments like, Miss Botswana 2015 is not black enough to represent Botswana at the global stage.

Seneo Paige Miss Botswana 2015 controversy - Not Black enough to represent Botswana

People are posting uncanny and hate comments on social media stating she has yellow skin. In contrast, fans and pageant followers are stating that the first runner-up, Nicole Lisa Gaelebale is much more deserving and gave a better competition than the winner. And according to her supporters, she is black enough to become Miss Botswana.

Moments after Seneo was crowned, there was mixed reactions from people where some commented that skin pigmentation worked in her favour while her supporters insisted that she is a brainy beauty who excelled throughout the assessment activities.  This is not the first time that a beauty pageant winner is being criticized over her win. And this is also not the first time that a winner is being criticized for her looks. Racism has been a factor that has been growing constantly over the time in the world of pageantry. Being white, black or brown should never be a concern as to why someone should or should not win a pageant. And as we preach about not judging people by their colour, so we should follow in all standards of life.
