Trends come and go, and every trend brings with it a lot of excitement. The latest trend that is going around the beauty pageant world is the trend of postage stamp. Last year, Paulina Vega received a stamp that the Government issued in her honour, in a ceremony held under the National Beauty Pageant in Cartagena. Now the newly crowned Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach will be honoured with the same. The Philippine Postal Corporation has announced that it will issue postage stamps honouring Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

Since, the Miss Universe pageant is a big thing in Philippines, this kind of honour was expected, as so far, whosoever has been crowned from the country has forever been etched in the history books. The Philippine Postal Corporation has already issued stamps honouring Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz and Miss Universe 1973 Margarita Moran. In 2014, stamps honouring Miss World 2013 Megan Young was also issued.

Not just Philippines, even Colombia issued stamps honouring the late Marina Zuluaga who won the Miss Universe title in 1958. In 2002 the next stamp was issued in honour of Vanessa Mendoza, who was the first Afro-Colombian to win the crown of the national beauty pageant. And last year the country did the same when Paulina Vega was the Miss Universe queen.
