Thirteen young women will compete for the glorious title of Miss Universe Guam 2016 later this month to win a chance to compete in the Miss Universe 2016 pageant in Manila next year.

This year's contestants will be evaluated by seven judges, and the finalists will be judged on the basis of beauty, poise and personality through a swimsuit, evening gown, and question-and-answer contest. If sources are to be believed, a regional costume contest will be held, but will not hold any weight in the final cut.

Miss Universe Guam is slated to be held on September 7' 2016 at Hyatt Regency Guam Hotel, Guam. Miss Universe Guam Beauty Pageant preliminaries will start from August 24' 2016 at the same venue wherein the finalists will showcase their swimsuit and native costume skills.

Apart from the title, the winner will also win prizes that includes a car from Guam Auto Spot, a full scholarship to Argosy University in Hawaii and $60,000 in gifts and prizes.

The Miss Universe Guam pageant is organized by the Guam Beauty Organization, which was founded in 1965.
