As all the countries gear up to select the representatives for major international pageants, Guyana is also on its road to the finale to select the Miss World Guyana 2017. Majesty International, the official License Holder of the pageant headed by Natasha Martindale is looking for that perfect delegate who will go on to compete at Miss World 2017.

On 26th March 2017, the organisation will be hosting an audition at Cara Lodge, Quamina Street, Georgetown. The applicants will be tested on different levels including, talent, sports, modelling and interview segments. So far, 25 semi-finalists have already been selected who will move through various segments to make it through the final cut. A number of applicants applied and after passing various levels, including an Online “personality test”, 25 semi-finalists were shortlisted.

The applicant must be of good moral character and possesses charm, poise, and personality. The applicant’s background should not bring into disrepute Majesty International or the Miss Guyana title or the licence holders/national director or any person in relation or associated with the pageant.

The Franchise holder and chairwoman of the Miss World Guyana Committee, Natasha Martindale aims at improving the entire process of the pageant from a personal brand. Guyana’s performance at Miss World pageant has seen a bit of improvement in recent years. In 2014, Rafieya Husain made it to the Top 11 finalists, after winning the Beauty with a Purpose segment. In 2015, Lisa Punch also cracked the Top 11 slot after winning the Talent segment.

At the conclusion of the finale of Miss World Guyana 2017, Miss Guyana World 2016, Nuriyyih Gerrard will pass on her crown to her successor.
